Matthew Marks (Auto Team Chair Emeritus) is SABIC’s Automotive Technical Development leader for the Americas region. In this role, he leads a team of specialists in North and South America in collaborations with industry to develop solutions involving a range of automotive applications. His experience, which spans 20 years, includes working with stakeholders in the automotive and mass transportation markets to support the regulatory community, foster cooperation and promote progress. Matthew lives in the Metropolitan Detroit area.

Mark’s team members are expert engineers and technologists who design and develop innovative applications, optimized using computer-aided engineering, for BASF automotive and industrial customers. Mark has over 35 years of experience, lives with his family in Massachusetts, but is often on-site in Detroit.

Jim Otis from Trinseo LLC is the NA Automotive Commercial Director. He has 30 years of Automotive plastics experience. Prior to the formation of Trinseo he worked for Dow Automotive where he performed a number of regional and global commercial roles which included OEM and tier accounts. Jim resides in the Detroit area.
James is a chemical engineer with over 24 years’ experience in the plastics industry. He served with Borden Chemicals & Plastics, Montell Polyolefins, and Aristech LLC Polypropylene. At Aristech / Sunoco Chemicals / Braskem, James was a leader in applications and markets including, Automotive-Compounding, Packaging, and Trading. He also managed Braskem’s North America’s Green Polyethylene business, and he is currently Business Development Manager for Braskem’s Automotive, Compounding, and Industrial markets.
Jackson Sutherland is a Global Segment Manager at Celanese, one of the largest engineering thermoplastic suppliers in the automotive industry. For the past decade, Jackson’s cross-functional teams have worked closely with key industry stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that address the market’s most pressing needs.
